The Quiet Authority (Hades)|80x60cm|Oil on canvas

Hades rules over a world that others prefer to avoid.

The Quiet Authority is about the parts of our personality that were not created for recognition.

Ambition. Anger. Ego. Control. Power. Fear. Desire. Things we like to hide because they do not fit the image we want others to have of us.

Yet repressed sides do not disappear. They merely act from the shadows.

Hades stands for the willingness to look down and acknowledge what exists there, without having to sugarcoat it.

Perhaps self-determination does not come from only showing the best sides of oneself.

But from knowing the others, too.

What you cannot look at in yourself, controls you.
What you accept, belongs to you.

Every sketch sold is developed into an original work.
